In this episode of the Dream Space podcast, artist and world-builder Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley takes us on a collective train ride to a utopian dream space inspired by the aesthetics of a PlayStation One game. With a soundtrack featuring Arthur Russell and a menu rich in Caribbean flavors, Danielle creates an immersive experience.

Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley’s work focuses on archiving Black trans experiences, using technology to imagine environments that centre their bodies. Often presented as video games, her art invites audiences to reflect on their own identities while immersing themselves in her unique worlds.

For Factory International, Danielle created I CAN'T FOLLOW YOU ANYMORE, a browser-based video game exploring the idea of leading a revolution. Styled like a 90’s PlayStation One horror game, players must dance or fight to convert others to their ideology, while confronting challenges to their own beliefs.
